The programme focused on key issues such as the current sources of funding for European Universities Alliances, the challenges and needs in securing long-term and sustainable financial support, and provided insights into monitoring, performance measurement and impact. Furthermore, participants discussed governance arrangements required for sustainable funding as well as lessons to be learned from “excellence funding schemes” for financing European Universities Alliances.
The keynote speeches and subsequent discussions strongly emphasized the importance of supporting the European Universities Alliances and highlighted the pivotal role of long-term sustainable funding for their success.
